Who is the Veroval® Lea app suitable for?

The Veroval® Lea App is suitable for people looking to prevent and/or manage high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes and anyone who has problems sleeping. It also provides motivation to encourage users to reduce influenceable risk factors.

The Veroval® Lea App is geared towards people who...

  • suffer from high blood pressure or type 2 diabetes and/or
  • have an elevated risk of cardiovascular disease and/or
  • have trouble sleeping and/or
  • want to prevent cardiovascular disease

The Veroval® Lea App is not suitable in the following cases:

  • Pregnancy: Do not use the app if you are pregnant or think that you might be pregnant.
  • Underage: Do not use the app if you are under 18 years of age.
  • Insufficient language skills: Do not use the app if there is anything in the instructions, guides or recommendations that you do not understand or if you do not have sufficient command of the language in which the Pathmate Coach is provided.
  • People who have a severe visual impairment: Do not use the app if there is anything that you cannot read in the instructions, guides or recommendations.
  • Do not use the sleep restriction if any of the following contraindications apply:
    • Epilepsy
    • Bipolar disorder
    • Untreated hypersomnolence

Is the Veroval® Lea a real coach?

No, the Veroval® Lea is not a real human coach; it is a chatbot. A chatbot (from “chat” + “robot”) is an automated, text-based dialogue system. Our chatbot works in a similar way to a real coach in that it seeks to enter into a dialogue based on your needs and habits, which may give the impression that you are conversing with a real person; however, this is not the case at any time.

Is the Veroval® Lea app safe to use?

Quality and safety are very important to us. As a Pathmate Coach, the Veroval® Lea app is a registered class I medical device and thus meets the quality and safety requirements set out in EU Directive 93/42/EEC.

All recorded data is encrypted and stored on the smartphone. It is of course also transferred between the app and our server system in encrypted form. Our server systems are protected according to current security standards and are only operated by certified Pathmate partners. More detailed information on this can be found in the privacy policy.

What happens with my data?

We record data so that the Veroval® Lea app can provide personalised feedback and improve the user experience. For this purpose, we also conduct usage analyses to determine which functions are particularly useful. However, we do not look at individual user data, only aggregated and anonymised data. You will find all the relevant information on this in the app’s privacy policy.

Do I need an internet connection to use the Veroval® Lea app?

You need a mobile internet connection (3G or higher) or a stable Wi-Fi connection to use the app.

Can I use the Veroval® Lea app with my device?

You can use the Veroval® Lea app on a smartphone with one of the following operating systems:

  • iOS version 12.3 or higher
  • Android version 8.0 or higher

Can I send my blood pressure values to my doctor?

You can export your blood pressure data at any time as a PDF and send the file via your personal email address.

Who is behind the Veroval® Lea app?

The Veroval® Lea App is developed by Pathmate, a team of behavioural psychologists and IT experts. For the development of the Veroval® Lea App, Pathmate works together with medical experts from the Hypertension Centre of the Hannover Medical School (MHH). The Veroval® Lea App is scientifically supervised and evaluated by MHH. You can find more information on Pathmate here.

How do I know that the information I receive from the Veroval® Lea app is up-to-date and correct?

We work with medical experts to create the content and ensure that our information is always based on the latest medical guidelines. Our content is regularly and systematically checked to make sure it is accurate and up-to-date.

As a Pathmate Coach, the Veroval® Lea app is a registered class I medical device and thus meets the quality and safety requirements set out in EU Directive 93/42/EEC.

The Pathmate Coach has also been certified by the Deutsche Hochdruckliga (German hypertension league).

What do I need to bear in mind when using the Veroval® Lea app?
